Let’s talk about the role

The North Face is strengthening the European Design Team and has an opening for a Junior Designer. Working with the current creative team, you will play a central role in creating newness and evolving existing ranges. You need to be passionate about design, commercially smart and thrive in a team environment.

How you will make a difference

Work on seasonal concepts & collections for the Performance/Technical Outdoor categories. In collaboration with the other dedicated Designers, Design Manager and Senior Design Director
Research market trends and styles, ensuring comprehensive product and competitor knowledge
Use Illustrator to create designs, tech packs, colour ups and style overviews
Create technical design/CAD sketches, including adding in all details, text information, colors etc.
Create technical graphic artwork documents, including adding in all details, text information, colors etc.
Support Designers in the execution of seasonal inspiration/product stories & moodboard creation.
Support research of design ideas, fabrics, finish, fit, trims and seasonal color story for relevant product category.
Assist creation of design boards as well as power point presentations.
Support overall organization of the design department & work closely with the Designers to create smooth ways of working within calendar deadlines.

Skills for Success

Experience: need to have experience in similar role 1-3 years
BA in Fashion Design
Must be a team player
Be creative and proactive
Team working skills, work together with the other designer and design team
Understanding of the design process
Understanding of the technical side of product
Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods
Strong organizational skills
Skills – Adobe creative suite, photoshop and Illustrator are a must
A creative, open minded individual
Someone who can adapt quickly and easily; and is reliable, takes initiative
Fluent in English – written and spoken
