Country Manager Greece & Cyprus

We are looking for an outstanding business leader, based in Athens’ office, able to drive commercial and marketing initiatives that reinforce and expand VF’s market presence in Greece & Cyprus. This role focuses on business development, operational leadership, and strategic project execution to ensure the successful implementation of VF commercial and marketing strategies in the market.

This role is responsible for all sales operations of the country, across retail and wholesale channels, as well as development of strategic plans, revenue growth, and P&L management, in close collaboration with local Finance and HR teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning: develop and implement commercial strategies in Greece, across retail and wholesale distribution, aligned with VF’s overall business objectives and in alignment with Brands’ strategic priorities
  • Develop and deliver annual and seasonal operating and trading plans through all distribution channels (i.e., wholesale, franchise, retail, online), in partnership with Brands’ leadership
  • Market expansion: identify and maximize new business opportunities to expand VF’s market presence in Greece & Cyprus, focusing on retail business expansion, partner development, and omnichannel growth
  • Retail execution leadership: oversee the direct-to-consumer business in the market, with specific focus on retail excellence, brand elevation, and performance improvement
  • Operational leadership: oversee daily commercial operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all commercial and marketing activities
  • Customer relationships: build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the market
  • Performance monitoring: track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement
  • Budget management: manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve financial targets and ensure cost efficient decision making
  • Compliance: collaborate with local Finance and HR to ensure all operations comply with VF’s policies and regulatory requirements
  • Team management: lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, setting objectives and providing ongoing feedback
  • Set up, develop, lead and inspire a high performing team

Key skills

  • A minimum of 10 years of commercial experience, with direct exposure to retail and wholesale business models, business / market development, and marketing
  • Proven track record in driving growth through store openings, partnerships, and omnichannel initiatives
  • Solid leadership and stakeholder management skills, empathy and ability to build relationships across the organization
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Business acumen, problem-solving and financial literacy (budgeting, P&L, ROI analysis)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix and multicultural environment
  • Deep understanding of the Greek & Cypriote retail and wholesale markets
  • Proficiency in English and Greek
