In this exciting new role you will report to the Apparel Designer and will work on men's, women's and children's technical apparel, covering MTB, Road and Commute categories.
To be a successful candidate, you will:
- have a strong interest in cycling, and experience of related technical apparel
- display strong design skills on computers
- work effectively and professionally within the team and assist in the design and development of new product
- be self motivation to work to development calendar and key deadlines
- analyse trends and predictions to ensure colours and styling is always current
- produce garment tech packs to a high standard of detail and accuracy to ensure proto' samples are finished to desired specifications
- have knowledge of measurement spec's, grading, and how to accurately measure garments to improve fit and function
- regularly assist in the updating of tech packs in-line with improvements and alterations to samples
- attend sales meetings and supplier meetings
Education and/or experience:
- BA Degree in a fashion design (or similar) 3-4yr course, preferably with industry placement, or
- 2 yr. Foundation Degree, plus around 2 yrs. experience in an apparel design environment, or
- strong CAD skills, and notable experience in the cycle industry, and a strong portfolio showing a flair for technical design
Skills and other requirements:
- proficient in Adobe Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS
- basic knowledge of word processing and presentation software such as Word, Excel
- be able to travel domestically and internationally and work outside of regular office hours
