Special Ecoride newsletter
Reminder about the Ecoride program (www.eurosima.com/ecoride).
Ecoride is an evaluation tool developed by the EuroSIMA Cluster in cooperation with ADEME and the consulting firm InovEco, which specializes in corporate environmental management. This tool provides the ability to measure and become aware of the environmental efforts of companies within the boardsports industry.
EuroSIMA member companies that wish to participate are evaluated by a committee of independent experts including local institutions and concentrates on 3 themes:
- Environmental management at the company head quarters.
- Eco design of company products and/or services.
- The company’s commitment to supporting environmental projects.
18 EuroSIMA member companies joined the program in 2011, which is 5 more than in 2010: Attitude Sk8, Bic Sport, Cool Shoe, GSM Europe, Holly Wood, InovEco, Notox, NSI h.o.5group, Oxbow, Picture, Quiksilver Europe, Quiksilver Technical Division, Rip Curl Europe,Salomon, SAS Aupa Hoff, UWL, Völkl, Zanzibar Production.
The EuroSIMA President will hand out Ecoride certification awards to these companies during the General Assembly of our association in March 2012.

This month, we encourage you to read about the actions of Zanzibar Production in Anglet, France.
Zanzibar Production
Activity: Design and manufacturing of textiles, accessories and labels.
Number of employees: 20 employees.
Actions implemented: The company is developing useful and sustainable POS-A for stores.Their cardboard chairs are easily transported. The polyester covers (recycled on demand) aresublimated with solvent free ink. Each year, the covers can be changed to include the visuals ofnew marketing campaigns.
The sales price includes all costs of collection and recycling of old covers.
This system is available for backlits (sublimated and sewn in the Pays Basque).
